A Perfect Ten!

Quite a milestone!  GranddaughterStitches has turned ten years old!  So here, of course, is a shirt to commemorate the accomplishment.  

I found a very pretty batik fabric for the two numerals.  As usual, fused on and then blanket stitched on the machine.

I told GranddaughterStitches that I could remember my DadStitches making a big deal out of my being a "two-number girl." 

And here is a tag I added onto the back of the shirt.  I have learned throughout the years that these tags are often scratchy and uncomfortable, and therefore tend to get removed from the garment.  So this time I added the label onto the outside of the shirt.

Happy First Birthday to BabyStitches!

As I did for my first GranddaughterStitches, I'm making "number" t-shirts for the new BabyStitches in our family.  I usually buy a t-shirt in the appropriate size for this project, but I'm kind out of the shopping area right now, so I turned to Amazon, as usual.  I could not find a single onesie!  But I found multi-packs, so I bought four of them.  

I used some very pretty fabric that I found here.  And I used a different font for each onesie.

This close-up shows that I used a blanket stitch to secure the fused numbers.

For the pink one, I added a little ruffled lace around the neckline.

I liked the "random" prints that were included in this set-of-four.

For the final onesie, I decided to do something different.  So I added a skirt to the top, which I think makes a cute little outfit.  Thank you to Create and Babble, found on Pinterest, for the idea and the instructions.

A Number Six Shirt for GranddaughterStitches

Little GranddaughterStitches has turned six.  So it is time for another "number shirt." 

Wow!  Where has the time gone.  She was in kindergarten this year, and it sounds like she thoroughly enjoyed it.

With our two kitties, nothing is easy any more.  They are interested in everything!

I liked this bright pinky-purple shirt so I chose it to use.  And I found the perfect fabric to use for the six.  I really like the combination.

I fused the number to the t-shirt, and added some stabilizer to the back.  Then I used a machine blanket stitch around the edges of the number to secure it.  I'm sure it is going to get laundered a good many times before her next birthday!

See what I mean?!?  Laying a small piece on the bed is usually a good place to photograph it.
